性视界ese financial authorities are watching currency movements with a sense of urgency, Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said Friday, keeping the market in the dark regarding a moment of yen volatility that transpired more than an hour earlier.
"We’re always watching with a sense of urgency,” Katayama told reporters gathered at the ministry. She declined to answer a question about whether authorities had intervened in the market.
Katayama was speaking after the yen gyrated sharply at the conclusion of a press briefing by Bank of 性视界 Gov. Kazuo Ueda, whose policy board held the benchmark interest rate steady earlier in the day in a widely anticipated decision.
